Mountain Rider’s Alliance Summer Shredfest Returns to Beartooth Basin
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RED LODGE, MONTANA – March 8, 2018. Mountain Rider’s Alliance (MRA) will be hosting their Second Annual Summer Shredfest at Beartooth Basin on June 15-17, 2018. This unique festival is an end-of-ski-season celebration for snow lovers everywhere. This year’s Summer Shredfest will include a Freeride World Tour Qualifier, the Montana Spirit Craft Showdown and a Community Ski, Ride and Demo Day, along with other activities.
“After last year’s successful inaugural Shredfest, we are psyched to return to the beautiful Beartooth Mountains and celebrate community skiing and riding.” says Jamie Schectman, MRA CEO and Co-founder.
The Freeride World Tour Qualifier is North America’s only summer event and will have up to 85 competitors in both men’s and women’s skiing and snowboarding.
“Beartooth Basin’s steep terrain lends itself to providing a great venue for athletes and spectators alike” said Tom Winter, FWQ North American Tour Manager and MRA Lifestyle Director.
Following the FWQ Award Ceremony, the area’s best distilleries will be on display for attendees to sample at the Montana Craft Spirit Showdown. Distilleries from across the state will compete to win this year’s Shredder’s Choice, the people’s selection for best craft spirit.
Sunday’s Community Ski, Ride and Demo Day will have a large selection of skis and snowboards to be used from a host of boutique brands. Lift tickets will be reduced to $35, including Demos.
Staying true to MRA’s core value of environmental sustainability, our partners at STOKE Certified are working with Beartooth Basin to become the first ski area powered by 100% biodiesel. Shredfest will also strive to be zero waste and carbon neutral to achieve STOKE Events certification among many other best practices.
Summer Shredfest sponsors include Powder Magazine, Sego Skis, Instant Shotski, Yodeler Motel and more.
