Sunshine Village Opens Thursday
Sunshine Village Earliest Opening In 30 Years
Canada is ready to ski with Sunshine Village announcing it’s earliest opening in over 30 years.
Sunshine Village will open with a 27 in base on Thursday, November 3. Four lifts, a magic carpet and an 8 person gondola will service skiers and snowboarders. The resort will also be operating full ski school and kids programs will begin as well. Retail and dining options will be limited and the Sunshine Mountain Lodge will open Friday, November 11.
Sunshine will be the first ski area in Canada to open for the 2016/2017 season and advises skiers and riders to use caution in the early season. Early season conditions exist and they warn of unmarked hazards.
Several Canadian Resorts Will Open Soon
CBCNews Calgary reports that several Canadian resorts are receiving snow and set to open soon. Lake Louise has already announced an opening date of November 10. Other resorts including Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, Fernie Alpine Resort, Kimberley Alpine Resort in B.C and Nakiska Ski Area in Alberta have all reported consistent snowfall.
