Presidential Ski Race
Trump vs Hillary Ski Race
This election season is winding down and I am beginning to wonder: who would win the race between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump …. The Ski Race that is.
So, I scoured the internet for clues as to who might be the better Winter athlete.
Trump: “No One Respects Women Skiers More Than I Do”
It seems that the extent of The Donald’s experience is trying to out ski an angry woman. Many online sources report that in 1990 Trump’s then wife Ivana was confronted by a supposed mistress. Some sources place the incident in Aspen while another states that it’s the Alps that hosted the epic ski off. Trying to distance himself from the controversy, The Donald reportedly took off down the mountain. To quote a 1990 People Magazine archive: Wrong move: Ivana is an excellent skier; Donald is not. When the formidable Czech pushed off in hot pursuit, fascinated observers swear they saw her whip in front of Donald and then ski backwards down the slopes, wagging her finger in his face.
Hillary: “Snowboarders Are Irritating”
There are reports that First Lady Clinton was once spotted “skiing on a sunny day”. According to the Orlando Sentinal, Hillary and her daughter went skiing at Park City, UT in celebration of Chelsea Clinton’s 19th birthday. The Democratic nominee was overheard “expressing irritation” to secret service after another user passed too closely. A frequent skier at nearby Deer Valley said quite sarcastically, “It was probably one of those snowboarders”.
SeniorsSkiing.com also reported the story and posted this great photo of the Clinton couple on classic Nordic Skis.
Separation of Snow and State
The Founding Fathers had some pretty good ideas on government. But, what did they know about ski races? If they could have seen into the future I’m sure they would have wanted to incorporate snow sports into our political landscape. Lucky for us the team at Renoun has created the perfect skis for this unprecedented race. The Trump vs Clinton skis are a limited edition ski that could help settle the race once and for all. Whether you lean left or right you are sure to find something you love about this amazing piece of ski art.
In just a few more days we’ll know who will win the race and become the next President of the United States of America. But we’ll never know who would have won the ski race.
Maybe next time the candidates will put away their differences and agree to settle things the way we did in the ’80s …. with a good old fashioned ski race.
