Teton Pass Ski Resort Overview
Teton Pass Ski Resort is a small ski area located outside of Choteau, Montana. Teton pass prides itself on being anything but a corporate mega-resort experience. According to their home page, “you will find zero lift lines, oh-so-rare continuous vertical, and some of the friendliest folks around.” Nearby Choteau has a population of about 1700 making this a small town ski area for sure.
This resort is a paradise for back country users. Teton Pass embraces their proximity to the Lewis and Clark National Forest and advertises “tremendous alpine touring terrain above the lift and great back country skiing access.” A yearly “Teton Touring Series” is made up of several group ski days that encourage experienced back country users to explore. Teton Pass also hosts the annual Jack’n’Jill Randonee Race that includes skinning up 900′ to 5000′ feet of climbing before skiing back down to the finish.
