WSSF: Day 3 Highlights

We survived the first weekend of the World Ski and Snowboard Festival!

Day 3 of WSSF brought another perfect bluebird day, and more than a few goggle tans. The Monster Energey Shredshow continued with the slopestyle event, which saw American Kyle Mack take 1st (remember, he’s the 16 year old who placed second at the Big Air on Day 2); Canadian Seb Toutant in 2nd, and Matts Kulisek, another Canuck, place 3rd.

Back down in the Village, crowds a trillion people deep took in the flash mobs, free samples (of course) and free concerts under the sunny sky. At nightfall, the first of the “creative” events of WSSF, Multiplicity, took place.

Multiplicity consists of eight short presentations by some of the world’s top photographers, adventurers, and all-around inspiring people. National Geographic’s Wade Davis took the audience through some of the world’s mountain cultures, while free diver Mandy-Rae Cruikshank talked about her time spent swimming with humpback whales. It was an inspiring evening, to say the least.

The crowds may be thinner on Monday, but we have at least one more stellar day in the forecast, so let’s see what lies ahead!
